Story & Atmosphere
If you find yourself in Kuta, Bali, I highly recommend visiting Bubur Ayam Bang Yossi Khas Jakarta, a unique gem that showcases the heart of Indonesian comfort food. Located conveniently on Jl. Raya Kuta No.123, this establishment serves up a delightful bowl of bubur ayam—a savory chicken porridge that has garnered praise from both locals and visitors. The best part? They’re open 24/7, making it a perfect late-night stop or an early-morning refuge.
The restaurant takes pride in its rich, yellow broth, infused with aromatic lime leaves, which elevates the simple bowl of porridge into something truly special. As you dig into it, you’ll find tender shredded chicken adorned with toppings like crunchy soy nuts, fried garlic, and the ever-present krupuk (crackers) that add an exciting texture. Many customers, such as Alfech, have remarked on the delightful flavors, especially when paired with optional satays like chicken intestine and quail egg, making the meal even more satisfying.
While some diners wish for larger portions—an understandable request given the rich flavors that tempt you into wanting more—there’s no denying that the prices remain incredibly affordable. A bowl can cost as little as IDR 12,000, ensuring that this delicious dish is accessible to everyone. Steve Matthews highlighted the soup's soothing properties, making it an excellent choice for those under the weather—proof that this dish goes beyond mere sustenance to offer comfort in a bowl.
The cozy ambiance, often complemented by live performances, creates an inviting atmosphere where you can savor your meal while soaking in the local culture. The friendly staff, noted by sonya pase, enhance the experience with warm smiles and efficient service that makes you feel right at home.

“ Located on Jl. Raya Kuta, Bali near BCA building, open 24hrs, taste good with yellow soup, with additional chicken intestine satay and puyuh egg satay. Price affordable. Maybe the portion looks small, but its medium, quite enough. Big eater must be take 2 portion or more. Halal food, enjoy your meal!! ”
“ The store opens 24/7. As a foreigner, I found the food very tasty. Wish the portion was bigger. There was live performance at the time when I visited the store. What a bonus. Great balance in texture and the taste. ”
“ Good street food in Kuta area. Place is situated near main market with plenty of parking. Opens till late. The congee had 2 options: with innards satay (fried chicken intestines) and without. Chicken stock/broth can be self-added to adjust the thickness and condiments such as chilli sauce and soy sauce are available on the table. As the serving is quite small, big eater will need to order more than one bowl. Price was fair and service was fast. ”
“ I've been sick to my stomach which actually happened before I arrived to Bali. This place is a godsend they make Bubur Ayam, a bowl of rice porridge with a really delicious lime leaf infused broth. With bits of chicken, cilantro, fried garlic, crunchy soy nuts (I Think) and some other things on top and crunchy chips. It was just such the perfect thing you had an upset stomach and it cost one US dollar. The atmosphere is actually pretty nice you're not directly on the street and they have the coolest Alter next to a very fancy looking House. The attraction of the atmosphere is of course the 24/7 motocross Race going on directly in front of the location... ”
“ One of the all time market for night cats to get delicious food of local flavor, and it opens 24 house a day, and 7 days a week. Sate is including with 1 pieces, but of course never enough. Soup is in bottle and warm that's free to use as much as you want. Green chili is their specially, but careful for the hotness. Fried chip is not necessary to me. Parking is the night is easy. There are also other good street food for the night around. I must come back again with hunger. ”
